               ആദി ദ്രാവിഡ  സംസ്കൃതിയോളം വേരോട്ടമുള്ള ഒരു ഗ്രാമചേതനയുടെ  അക്ഷരസ്വപനങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് ഒരു നുതന  സാഫല്യം . ജനനമ്മ  ലക്ഷ്യമിടുന്ന  നേതൃമനസുകളുടെ ഇച്ഹശക്തി പണിതുയര്‍ത്തുന്ന അവിസ്മരണിയ നേട്ടങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് ഒരു നിത്യവിളംബരം, അതാണ്‌ വഴിത്തലയിലെ സെന്‍റ് സെബാസ്റ്യന്‍സ് ഹയര്‍ സെക്കണ്ടറി സ്കൂള്‍. 1811   ലാണ് മറിക പള്ളി സ്ഥാപിതമായത് 1952 ബഹു. ശങ്കുരിക്കല്‍ ജോസഫ്‌ അച്ചന്‍റെ നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ പള്ളി പുതുക്കിപ്പണിതതു മുതല്‍ സെന്‍റ് ജോസഫ്സ്   ചര്‍ച്ച്‌ മറിക എന്ന പേരില്‍ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു. 1917 ല്‍ മറിക സെന്‍റ് മേരിസ് എല്‍. പി. സ്കൂളിന്‍റെ സ്ഥാപനത്തോടെയാണ് മറികപ്പള്ളിയുടെ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ മേഖലയിലെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് ഔപചാരികയുടെ പരിവേഷം കിട്ടുന്നത്. 1938 മെയ്‌ 16 നു വഴിത്തലയില്‍ സെബാസ്റ്യന്‍സ് വി. എം. ( വെര്‍ണാകുലര്‍ മിഡില്‍ ) സ്കൂളിനു തുടക്കം കുറിച്ചത്.  വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ നയങ്ങളില്‍ വന്നുകൊണ്ടിരുന്ന മാറ്റങ്ങള്‍ സ്കൂളിന്‍റെ  പേരിലും   പ്രതിഫലിച്ചു. വി. എം. സ്കൂള്‍ എം. എം. (മലയാളം മിഡില്‍) സ്കൂളായും പിന്നിട് ഇ. എം. (ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് മിഡില്‍) സ്കൂളായും അറിയപ്പെടാന്‍ ഇടയായത്.
             വഴിത്തല  ഹൈസ്കൂള്‍ന്‍റെ പ്രഥമ ഹെഡ്മാസ്റ്റെര്‍ എന്ന ബഹുമതി തിരുവല്ല സ്വദേശിയായിരുന്ന പി. വി. എബ്രഹാം മാസ്റ്റെര്‍ക്കുള്ളതാണ്. റവ. ഫാ. ചെറിയാന്‍ വേരനാനി 1961 മുതല്‍ 1977 വരെയുള്ള സുദിര്‍ഘമായ 16 വര്‍ഷകാലം വഴിത്തല  ഹൈസ്കൂള്‍ന്‍റെ പ്രധാനഅധ്യാപകായി പ്രശംസര്‍ഹമായ നിലയില്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ചു.
              26 - 07 - 2000  ല്‍  വഴിത്തല  ഹൈസ്കൂള്‍ ഹയര്‍ സെക്കണ്ടറി സ്കൂളായി  ഉയര്‍ത്തിക്കൊണ്ട് ഉത്തരവു ലഭിക്കുന്നത്.2000 -2001 വിദ്യാലയ  വര്‍ഷത്തില്‍  സയന്‍സ്, കോമേ    സ്  വിഷയങ്ങളിലായി  150  വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥി കള്‍ക്ക്  പ്രവേശനം നല്‍കിക്കൊണ്ട്  ആഗസ്റ്റ്‌  ഒന്നാം തിയതി  ഹയര്‍ സെക്കണ്ടറി സ്കൂള്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം  തുടങ്ങി .
